Our Story

It all started in October '07 when God started stirring me. This stirring was alive and well in the hearts of others as well. It was a call to return to the simplicity of the gospel, something that sounds easy enough but it meant breaking free from things like legalism and religion. That time in my life was nothing short of a crisis, a crisis in which I had to cut everything out, but the Truth. God started laying on my heart, as well as my wife's, to return home! We were in the K.C. area, but are hearts were in Joplin. A door opened that gave us the opportunity to return home. Upon arriving, our hearts were broken for the lost and hurting of this community unlike anything that we had ever felt before. We didn't know what to do except get on our faces before God. Then we started talking to certain people in our lives at our dining room table, we discussed what a life-giving church in Joplin would look like. We knew one thing; if God wasn't in it, we wanted out! We also knew that if we wanted to really impact this community, we had to target young families. More specifically the 18-35 age group. So through much prayer, sleepless nights, and a lot of personal growing up; here we are as IgniteChurch.tv. Starting with a core group of just a few people in October of 2008, to a weekly attendence of 300+, it's been a journey moving at break-neck speed with no signs of slowing down. God has been so good to us, He has made ways when there were no ways! I am truely honored and completely humbled to be a part of this. Only God knows where IgniteChurch.tv will end up in the history books, but I'm excited to go along for the ride! There are some things that I do know for sure; God's message of hope, love, and mercy will not only be proclaimed, but also lived out. And we will make a difference.
